CLEVELAND – The Ohio football program's graduate student linebacker
Bryce Houston earned Mid-American Conference East Co- Defensive Player of the Week accolades for his performance on Saturday (Sept. 16).
Houston (Lewis Center, Ohio) continued his strong 2023 season, leading the defense as they held the Iowa State Cyclones to seven points in the Bobcats' 10-7 victory over the Power 5 school at Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium. The linebacker finished the game with a team-best 15 tackles, matching his career record that he set against Buffalo in 2021. Of his 15 tackles, Houston recorded five solo stops.
This victory marked Ohio's first win over a Power 5 school since 2017 and extended their home-game winning streak to eight games.
The Bobcats are set to open MAC play this Saturday (Sept. 23) against the Bowling Green Falcons. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. and Doyt L. Perry Stadium and can be seen on ESPN+.
