ATHENS, Ohio -- Earlier today, InterMat released their NCAA Division I preseason wrestler rankings and named four Ohio wrestlers to the list.
Leading the way is redshirt sophomore
Peyten Kellar (Cutler, Ohio). Kellar, who finished third at the MAC Championships and competed in last year's NCAA Division I National Championships, was ranked 18th in InterMat's 157-pound rankings.
Junior
Sal Perrine (Northfield, Ohio) comes in at 25th in the 174-pound preseason rankings. The Northfield native compiled a 17-5 record last season and has competed in the national championships the past two years. The junior will be looking for a third consecutive trip to the national championships.
Fellow junior,
Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio), has been ranked 26th in InterMat's preseason rankings for the 184-pound weight class. Lehman was alongside Perrine and Kellar a year ago in Tulsa at the national championships, and has his eyes set on making a return to the postseason competition.
Rounding out the four is sophomore
Derek Raike (Point Pleasant, W.V.) who comes in at 31st in the 149-pound rankings. The sophomore is coming off a strong freshman campaign which included an impressive 7-1 record.
Kellar, Perrine, Lehman, and Raike are looking to lead the Bobcats to a strong 2023-24 season. Ohio will kick off the season in November with the full schedule being released soon.
