ATHENS, Ohio— HERO Sports announced their Group of Five Top 25 and All-American teams today (July 21).
The Ohio football team ranked 17
th, finishing ahead of their non-conference opponent FAU (No. 18) and Mid-American Conference foes Miami (No. 21) and Eastern Michigan (No. 22). The Bobcats' week zero matchup, San Diego State, were ranked 16
th.
Graduate students
Sam Wiglusz (Brecksville, Ohio) and
Keegan Wilburn (Nelsonville, Ohio) represented Ohio on HERO Sports' All-American teams. Wiglusz was one of three wide receivers to earn Second Team Offense accolades while Wilburn made Second Team Special Teams.
The Bobcats are set to open the 2023 season on Saturday, Aug. 26 when they take on the San Diego State Aztecs. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on FS1 at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, Calif. Homecoming is set for Saturday, Oct. 7 against the Kent State Golden Flashes.
