KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Ohio baseball team (18-27, 14-12 MAC) fell to the Western Michigan Broncos (18-28, 15-10 MAC) today at Robert J. Bobb Stadium at Hyames Field, 6-4.

Individually, senior Alex Finney (Oxford, Mich.) went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored. Junior Gideon Antle (Licking, Mo.) and sophomore Nick Dolan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) both finished the day 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored each.

On the mound, redshirt junior Jacob Tate (Lousiville, Ky.) threw for 6.1 innings, retiring two Broncos. Junior Luke Olson (Granville, Ill.) threw the final 1.2 innings, facing 11 batters.

Fifth year Colin Kasperbauer (Sioux City, Iowa) crushed a triple down the right field line, scoring the next at bat when Finney reached on a Broncos fielding error. Ohio held a 1-0 lead until the bottom of the seventh; back-to-back RBI singles drove in two runs for the Broncos. Western Michigan extended their lead with a single through the left side, leaving the Bobcats trailing, 4-1.

Finney got the ball rolling for the Bobcats in the top of the ninth, leading off with an infield single. Back-to-back doubles from Antle and Dolan cut the deficit to one run. Dolan scored on a throwing error, tying the game.

Western Michigan bounced back in the bottom of the inning with a walk-off home run, defeating Ohio, 6-4.

Up next, the Bobcats return to action tomorrow (May 14) for game three of their road series against the Broncos. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
