KENT, Ohio – The Ohio baseball team (16-23, 13-8 MAC) fell to the Kent State Golden Flashes (31-12, 16-5 MAC) at Olga Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium this afternoon (April 30), 7-5

Individually, freshman Billy Adams (Medina, Ohio) scored two runs off one hit, and earned one RBI.  Redshirt sophomore Nick Dolan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and fifth year Will Sturek (Minnetonka, Minn.) combined for two runs and two RBIs. Junior Luke Olson (Granville, Ill.) got the start on the mound, allowing five runs on five hits.

Kent State began the game with a quick 6-0 lead after the first. In the bottom of the second inning, Dolan doubled down to left center field and drove in junior Cole Williams (Charlotte, N.C.) to get Ohio on the board. RBI doubles from Adams and redshirt sophomore AJ Rausch (Powell, Ohio) cut the lead to just three. Kent State answered in the third with a home run, putting the score at 7-3, Golden Flashes.

Sturek opened the bottom of the third with a solo home run to cut into the deficit. Ohio took advantage of a fielding error to score one run, setting the score at 7-5. Neither team was able to score again, with Ohio losing 7-5.

Up next, the Bobcats return to Athens to host the Ball State Cardinals. First pitch for Friday (May 5) is set for 6 p.m. at Bob Wrenn Stadium.
