CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Ohio track and field team competed in the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, hosted by the University of Cincinnati on March 31-April 1.
In the field events, senior Kassidy Betzing (Pomeroy, Ohio) competed in the javelin, throwing 29.14m for fifth place.
Fifth year Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio), junior Jordan Baith (Seville, Ohio), and sophomore Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) competed in the hammer throw, discus, and shot put. In the hammer throw, Mohan threw 43.10m, while Baith threw 41.53m and Ryan threw 34.42m. Mohan finished sixth in the discus with a throw of 43.51m, while Ryan and Baith threw 37.12m and 26.93m. In the shot put Mohan threw 12.05m, with Ryan throwing 11.74m and Baith throwing 11.01m.
Junior Emily McKenzie (Dillsburg, Pa.) competed in both the long and the triple jump, jumping 4.87m and 10.44m for ninth place.
In the running events, junior Kenna Loveless (Tallmadge, Ohio) ran a 11:36.71 for third in the steeplechase, while freshmen Jenna Razavi (Medina, Ohio) and Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio), clocked an 11:42.25 and 11:56.08 for fourth and sixth.
In the 4x100, the team of Betzing, red shirt senior Taniah Stephens (Erie, Pa), and freshmen Josie Knierim (McConnelsville, Ohio) and Maggie Stewart (Worthington, Ohio), finished in 49.41 for seventh place.
Sophomore Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) and senior Carina Weaver (Lexington, Ohio) also secured top-eight finishes in the 1500m with times of 4:42.59 and 4:44.85. Harris placed sixth while Weaver placed eighth. Freshman Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) and sophomore Theresa Hagey (Akron, Ohio) also competed, clocking 4:49.39 and 4:54.22. Â
Stewart ran 12.72 in the 100m while junior Imani Brown (Crown Point, Ind.) ran 1:01.30 in the 400m.
In the 800m, fifth year Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) took third, clocking a 2:14.81. Senior Alyssa Christian (Newark, Ohio) and freshman Sophie Besett (Twinsburg, Ohio) followed with times of 2:22.96 and 2:24.92.
Sophomore Sarah Liederbach (Petoskey, Mich.) wrapped up the day with a 17:38.44 and seventh place finish in the 5000m. Red shirt junior Bailey Robets (North Kingsville, Ohio), freshman Morgan Roth (Brunswick, Ohio), sophomore Avril Moyer (Reynoldsburg, Ohio), and freshman Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio) also competed, clocking 18:00.85, 18:08.91, 18:23.59, 18:27.48, respectively.
Up next, the Bobcats will travel to Durham, N.C. to compete in the Duke Invitational on April 7.
