Fifth year Colin Kasperbaurer (Sioux City, Iowa) and redshirt sophomore AJ Rausch (Powell, Ohio) both went 3-for-8 with one double.

On the mound, junior Luke Olson (Granville, Ill.) started the first game, recording six strikeouts in 4.2 innings. Sophomore Zack Weber (Lebanon, Ohio) started game two, throwing for 3.2 innings.

GAME ONE
Both Ohio and Southern Illinois started the game off slow; neither team scored in the first four innings. Southern Illinois started the scoring off in the bottom of the fifth, driving in six runs. The Bobcats' offense ignited in the sixth. Kasperbauer drove in the first RBI, putting Ohio on the board. Next, Minzey doubled, leading to two more runs for Ohio. The Bobcats cut into the deficit with a bases loaded walk, putting them down 6-4 heading into the seventh.

Ohio's offense continued to play well in the seventh. Minzey began with a single through right which allowed Antle to score. Junior Alec Patino (Sioux City, Iowa) recorded his first RBI of the day, bringing Kaperbauer home and adding to the Bobcats' total. Fifth year Will Sturek (Minnetonka, Minn.) contributed to the scoring with a two-RBI double, putting Ohio up 8-6 going into the bottom of the seventh. Southern Illinois answered with a three-RBI double to reclaim the lead.

Ohio began the eighth with the bases loaded. A hit batter forced in another run, tying the game at nine each. Southern Illinois scored two more runs, forcing the Bobcats to answer in the ninth. Unable to score, Ohio lost the first game 11-9.

GAME TWO
Southern Illinois began the game scoring in each of the first four innings, going up 8-0. Ohio continued to be held scoreless and allowed the Salukis to tally three more runs, putting the Bobcats' deficit at 11.

Ohio's offense started the ninth hungry to score. Luckily for the Bobcats, sophomore Wes Lug (Huntersville, N.C.) took advantage of a wild pitched and ran home for Ohio's first run of the day. Junior Clay Cutter (Centennial, Colo.) followed with a two-RBI double, but a pop out marked the third out, putting the final score at 11-3.

Up next, the Bobcats conclude their weekend against Southern Illinois on Sunday, March 5. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. ET.
