ATHENS, Ohio—The Ohio wrestling team (2-6, 2-1 MAC) fell to the Northern Illinois Huskies (6-4, 3-1 MAC), 23-10.

Redshirt freshman Garrett Thompson (Murrysville, Pa.) was dominant at 174 pounds, shutting out his opponent for an 8-0 major decision. Sophomore Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio) followed with a 5-2 decision at 184 pounds.

After a Huskies takedown tied the 197-pound dual in the final seconds, redshirt junior Carson Brewer (Avon, Ind.) came out on top with a 13-11 win in the first sudden victory period.

Up next, the Bobcats return to action on Sunday, Jan. 22 when they host Cleveland State at 1 p.m. The match can be viewed on ESPN+.
