CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference has announced the 2022-23 conference schedule. This season, the league has returned to 18 conference games, with nine contests at home and nine on the road.
This schedule is subject to change, with the Friday night television windows still to be determined.
The Bobcats open the MAC schedule with back-to-back road contests starting Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Buffalo. Ohio is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 7 at Bowling Green.
Ohio returns to Athens on Tuesday, Jan. 10 against Ball State, before the Bobcats host Kent State on Saturday, Jan. 14.
After the Bobcats head to Toledo on Tuesday, Jan. 17, the Bobcats are back in the Convocation Center against Central Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 21 and Western Michigan on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
After back-to-back road contests at Akron (Jan. 28) and Eastern Michigan (Jan. 31), Ohio is back in Athens on Saturday, Feb. 4 to host Miami inside the Convocation Center. Ohio then heads to DeKalb, Illinois on Tuesday, Feb. 7 to take on Northern Illinois
The Bobcats return to Athens on for back-to-back contests starting Saturday, Feb. 11 when they host Akron in the Convo. Ohio then welcomes Buffalo on Tuesday, Feb. 14. After the contest with UB, the Bobcats head to Central Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 18 before returning Ohio to take on NIU on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Ohio hits the road for their final road games of the season at Miami (Feb. 25) and Kent State (Feb. 28), before wrapping up the 2022-23 regular season on Friday, March 3 against Bowling Green in Athens.
The 2023 MAC Basketball Tournament will be held March 9-11 in Cleveland, Ohio.
While some nonconference dates have been released, the full nonconference schedule will be announced once the final dates and opponents are finalized. Game times and TV selections will also be announced later.
The Bobcats are coming off a 25-10 season and a 14-6 mark in conference play. Ohio advanced to the MAC Semifinals and then advanced into the second round of the 2022 CBI in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Bobcats return six from last season's roster including graduate student forward
Dwight Wilson III (Tallahassee, Fla.) who is back after missing last season with a knee injury. Seniors
Miles Brown (Rochester, N.Y.) and
Ben Roderick (Powell, Ohio) and sophomores
AJ Clayton (Roseville, Ohio),
IJ Ezuma (Raleigh, N.C.) and
Olumide Adelodun (Calgary, Canada) also return for the Green and White.
Ohio welcomes nine newcomers to the roster that includes transfers
Jaylin Hunter (Manchester, Conn.),
Gabe Wiznitzer (Walhalla, S.C.) and
DeVon Baker (Dayton, Ohio). Ohio also adds freshmen
AJ Brown (Orlando, Fla.),
Ajay Sheldon (Dublin, Ohio),
Elmore James (Cleveland, Ohio),
Aidan Hadaway (Lafayette, Ga.),
Ben Estis (Southlake, Texas) and
Quinn Corna (Columbus, Ohio).
