CLEVELAND—The Ohio baseball team was represented by 10 student-athletes on the 2022 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, as announced by the league office today (July 12).
This year, the Bobcats are represented by redshirt freshman
Nick Dolan (Pittsburgh, Pa.), redshirt junior
Xavier Haendiges (Salem, Ind.), redshirt senior
Spencer Harbert (Middletown, Del.), fifth year
Chace Harris (New Marshfield, Ohio), redshirt junior
Eamon Horwedel (Ann Arbor, Mich.), senior
Colin Kasperbauer (Sioux City, Iowa), redshirt freshman
AJ Rausch (Powell, Ohio), redshirt senior
Michael Richardson (Cambridge, Md.), senior
Brenden Roder (Sioux City, Iowa) and senior
Will Sturek (Minnetonka, Minn.).
A total of 122 student-athletes were named to this year's squad.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contents for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
Harbert (MS in Management) and Harris (Sport Management) both earned Academic All-MAC Team for the second time. Dolan (Exercise Physiology Pre-Physical Therapy), Haendiges (Marketing and Business Analytics), Horwedel (Chemical Engineering), Kasperbauer (Communication Studies), Rausch (Communication Studies), Richardson (Management Info Studies and Business Analytics), Roder (Finance) and Sturek (Finance and Sport Management) all earned Academic All-MAC recognition for the first time in their careers.
