ATHENS, Ohio— After taking an early lead, the Ohio baseball team (12-13, 6-8 MAC) fell to Toledo (14-15, 8-9 MAC) 11-8.
Individually, senior
Mason Minzey (Grand Blanc, Mich.) went 2-for-3 with with one RBI and redshirt freshman
AJ Rausch (Powell, Ohio) went 3-for-6 with two runs scored. On the mound, redshirt freshman
Luke Borer (Perrysburg, Ohio) made his first career appearance, closing the game with three scoreless innings and two looking strikeouts.
Minzey drove in the first Bobcat run of the game in the first inning with a sacrifice fly. Redshirt senior
Spencer Harbert (Middletown, Del.) immediately followed with a two-run home run to left field, giving Ohio a 3-0 lead.
A groundout followed by a wild pitch drove in two Toledo runs in the second, but fifth year
Isaiah Peterson (Lincoln, Neb.) answered in the bottom of the inning with an RBI double to deep right field, scoring redshirt senior
Michael Richardson (Cambridge, Md.) to give Ohio a 4-2 lead.
Toledo surged ahead in the third, taking a 6-4 lead off a groundout, double and sacrifice fly. Another RBI double in the fifth drove in an additional run. The next inning, a bases loaded walk followed by a three-RBI double put the Rockets ahead 11-4.
The Bobcats chipped away at Toledo's lead in the sixth, scoring one run off a Peterson sacrifice fly. In the seventh, Richardson drove in two more runs with a single to right field. Kasperbauer drove in Ohio's final run in the eighth inning with a single, putting the final score at 11-8.

The Bobcats return to action tomorrow (April 10) for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
