Rogers Signed by Washington Commanders as Undrafted Free Agent

ATHENS, Ohio— The Washington Commanders officially announced they signed of Ohio football alumnus Armani Rogers (Los Angeles, Calif.) as an undrafted rookie free agent today (4/30).
 
Rogers participated in all 12 games in the 2021 season, completing 29-of-49 passing attempts for 350 yards. The quarterback turned tight end was second on team with 552 rushing yards on 92 carries and seven touchdowns. Rogers recorded NCAA record for longest run by a quarterback with 99-rard touchdown run against Buffalo (Oct. 16).
 
During the shortened 2020 season, Rogers made his Ohio debut at Central Michigan (Nov. 4), rushing seven times for 32 yards and completing one of his three passing attempts for four yards. In a 52-10 win over Bowling Green (Nov. 28), Rogers rushed a season-high eight times for a season-high 65 yards, including a season-long 29-yard run for a touchdown.
 
Prior to Ohio, Rogers saw action in 21 games with 18 starts over the three seasons at UNLV. He set UNLV's record for career net rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,549, a total that also ranked 10th in Mountain West Conference history.
 
Rogers was named Mountain West Freshman of the Year in 2017 after a record-setting debut campaign with nine starts in 10 games played, breaking the program records for both rushing yards in a season by a freshman and rushing yards in a season by a quarterback with 780 and setting the UNLV record for rushing touchdowns by a freshman in a season with eight.
