MOREHEAD, Ky.-- The Ohio Baseball team (16-17, 10-10 MAC) fell to Morehead State (16-19) on Tuesday afternoon (April 19) at John "Sunny" Allen Field.
The Bobcats had an offensive explosion, but were unable to secure the victory in the 13-12 loss against the Eagles. Ohio fell behind in the first inning, but refused to trail as redshirt freshman
Nick Dolan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) launched his third home run of the season to score two runs and take the lead in the second inning. The Bobcats scored in each of the next two innings as redshirt senior
Spencer Harbert (Middletown, Del.) brought in a run in the third and redshirt freshman
Harrison Johnson (Mason, Ohio) took advantage of a wild pitch to take a 4-2 lead after the fourth inning.
The Eagles scored two more runs to tie the game up after six innings, but the Bobcats' offense came alive in the seventh.
Harbert started the scoring with a two-run homerun and freshman
Wes Lug (Huntersville, N.C.) singled to bring in another run to stretch Ohio's lead to three runs. The Bobcats kept going with a five-run eighth inning highlighted by another RBI from Harbert off a single, and Dolan's second homerun of the day that scored three more runs and gave them an eight-run lead. Dolan finished the day batting three-of-four with five RBI and a walk.
Unfortunately, Ohio wasn't able to hold onto the lead as the Eagles surged in the bottom of the eighth inning and ultimately fell.
