YPSILANTI, Mich.—The Ohio baseball team (14-15, 8-9 MAC) opened their series against Eastern Michigan (13-17, 9-8 MAC) with a 12-8 victory.
Individually, fifth year
Colin Kasperbauer (Sioux City, Iowa) went 3-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. On the mound, fifth year starter
Edward Kutt IV (Westlake, Calif.) went 5.1 innings, with three strikeouts. Fifth years
Chace Harris (New Marshfield, Ohio) and
Brett Manis (Port Huron, Mich.) closed the game, registering three strikeouts apiece.
Kasperbauer drove in the Bobcats' first run with an RBI triple in the top of the first. The next at-bat, senior
Mason Minzey (Grand Blanc, Mich.) singled, scoring Kasperbauer and giving Ohio a 2-0 lead. Ohio extended their lead in the third when fifth year
Isaiah Peterson (Lincoln, Neb.) scored on a passed ball. Redshirt freshman
AJ Rausch (Powell, Ohio) drove in Minzey with a groundout, putting Ohio up 4-0 heading into the fourth.
Eastern Michigan struck in the fourth, scoring two runs off a ground out and a fly out. An RBI double to left center field tied the game, 4-4. The next inning, a two-run home run gave Eastern Michigan a 6-4 lead.
The Bobcats rallied in the eighth, starting with an RBI single from fifth year

Nick Dolan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) launched Ohio ahead with back-to-back home runs, securing a 9-6 lead.
In the bottom of the inning, Eastern Michigan knocked in two runs off a double and a single. Ohio answered in the ninth, extending their lead to 12-8 with a double from Minzey, sacrifice fly from Harbert and a groundout from redshirt senior
