ATHENS, Ohio—After tying the game in the fifth inning, the Ohio baseball team (7-6, 1-1 MAC) took the lead in the seventh to defeat Marshall (10-7-1) 6-3.

Individually, redshirt senior Spencer Harbert (Middletown, Del.) went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, one RBI and one home run. Redshirt freshman Harrison Johnson (Mason, Ohio) went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. On the mound, eight Bobcat pitchers entered the game, striking out six batters while giving up nine hits.

"We were getting good swings on their starter early in the game, the ball just wasn't dropping" said head coach Craig Moore. "They kept sticking with it and we were fortunate enough to come out with a midweek win."

Marshall struck first, scoring one run in the top of the first. The score remained 1-0 until Harbert crushed a solo homerun in the bottom of the fifth.

A fielders' choice combined with a Marshall error drove in senior Mason Minzey (Grand Blanc, Mich.) and Harbert in the seventh, putting the Bobcats up 3-1. Two batters later, freshman AJ Rausch (Powell, Ohio) drove in Johnson, tacking on Ohio's fourth run of the game.

Marshall chipped away at Ohio's lead in the eighth, scoring two runs on a fielder's choice and an error. In the bottom of the inning, Johnson crushed a two-RBI double to center field, extending the Bobcats' lead to 6-3. Fifth year Brett Manis (Port Huron, Mich.), closed the game, facing only four batters to solidify the Bobcats' victory.
