BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Ohio swimming and diving team returned to action for day two of the 2022 Mid-American Conference Championships hosted by Bowling Green. After two days, the Bobcats sit in sixth place with 132 points.
The Bobcats began the evening session with the 500 free finals where junior
Emma Fortman (Madeira, Ohio) finished in fifth place with a time of 4:52.55. Sophomore
Morgan Croaning (Carmel, Ind.) finished the 'B' final in fifth place, 13
th overall, with a time of 4:58.13.
In the 200 IM finals, sophomore
Gabrielle Brust (Granville, Ohio) finished sixth overall, touching in at 2:01.08.
In the 50 free 'B' finals, junior
McKenzie Grau (Mason, Ohio) finished first and ninth overall with a time if 23.12. Sophomore
Caroline Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa.) wrapped up the event fifth and 13
th overall, touching in at 23.22.
In the 200 free relay, the Ohio squad of Grau, Fortman, Dunigan and sophomore
Meg Voigt (Bryan, Ohio) finished in fifth place, wrapping up the relay with a time of 1:32.15.
In the 1-meter dive, junior
Halli Siwik (Fishers, Ind.) finished the 'B' final in third, 11
th overall, with a score of 271.30.
Up next, the Bobcats return to the pool for day three of the MAC Championships on Friday, Feb. 25. Prelims are set to start at 10:30 a.m., with finals scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The evening sessions will be streamed on ESPN+.
