ATHENS, Ohio— The Ohio wrestling team was dominant on senior night, defeating Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 34-6. The Bobcats are now 9-3 overall and 5-2 against MAC teams.
"I can talk about every single guy; just an all-around goof performance for us," said head coach
Joel Greenlee. "Everybody rushed off to wrestle hard for seven minutes."
Redshirt sophomore
Jordan Slivka (Indianapolis, Ind.) started the match at 157 pounds, winning with a fall at 5:14. At 174 pounds, freshman
Sal Perrine (Northfield, Ohio) won with a 9-5 decision. Freshman
Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio) was dominant, winning by an 11-1 major decision at 185.
At 197 pounds, redshirt sophomore
Carson Brewer (Avon, Ind.) picked up three additional points for the Bobcats with a 6-0 decision. Sophomore
Oscar Sanchez continued the Bobcats' momentum with an 8-1 decision at 125 pounds.

Giovanni DiSabato (Hilliard, Ohio) and redshirt senior
Kyran Hagan (Eureka, Mo.) both won by forfeit at 133 and 141 pounds, respectively. At 149, redshirt senior
Alec Hagan (Eureka, Mo.) secured 3-1 victory with a takedown in the last 10 seconds of the dual. Redshirt junior
Jordan Earnest (Wadsworth, Ohio) closed the night with an extra match at 285 pounds, pinning his opponent at 1:55.
