ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio field hockey team (1-4) returned to action on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 8), falling to UC Davis (2-2), 2-1, at Pruitt Field.
The Bobcats struck first in the fourth minute with junior
Katelyn Whittle (Glenwood, Md.) scoring on an assist from freshman
Bodhi Littlefield (Oakland, Maine).
The Ohio defense held strong through the rest of the first half and through the third quarter, until UC Davis knotted the game up at 1-1 in 44
th minute off a penalty corner. The Aggies took the lead in the 52
nd minute, helping secure UC Davis' 2-1 victory.
The Aggies outshot Ohio, 11-8, while both teams registered three penalty corners.
Whittle led Ohio with a goal and two shots on goal. Meanwhile graduate student

Ohio heads to Iowa City, Iowa this weekend for two matches. The Bobcats take on Iowa at 4 p.m. ET on Friday (Sept. 10), before wrapping up the week on Saturday (Sept. 11) against St. Louis at 3 p.m. ET
