Ohio Falls to Bowling Green in Final Game

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio —The Ohio football team (3-9, 3-5) lost their final game of the season, falling to Bowling Green (4-8, 2-6), falling 21-10. The Bobcats were led offensively by quarterback Kurtis Rourke, who threw for 103 yards, and Armani Rogers, who scored Ohio's only touchdown. 

"I am proud of all our personnel," said head coach Tim Albin. "The guys kept fighting. We just could not make enough plays offensively." 

Bowling Green scored the first three points of the game off a field goal with 8:14 remaining in the quarter. Ohio trailed until the beginning of the second quarter; Armani Rogers scored the Bobcats' first touchdown of the day with 14:17 remaining in the second quarter. 

The Bobcats picked up three more points when Stephen Johnson kicked a field goal to end a seven play, 30-yard drive, giving Ohio a 10-3 lead. The next drive, Bowling Green touchdown tied the game with 4:48 remaining in the half, putting the score at 10-10 heading into the third quarter. 

The Falcons took the lead in the third quarter with a 43-yard field goal, giving them a 13-10 lead with 4:06 left in the quarter. They extended their lead in the fourth quarter, scoring two more points on a safety with 12:55 left in the game. 

A 40-yard field goal extended the Falcons' lead, 18-10. Their next drive, Bowling Green scored the final three points of the game off a 39-yard field goal with 2:28 remaining.

"I felt like the football team gave us an opportunity in every ball game," said Albin. "Starting with me and this coaching staff, we've got to find a way to win the close games early."

The Falcons outgained the Bobcats with 349 yards over Ohio's 223 and maintained possession of the ball for 37 minutes in comparison to the Bobcat's 23 minutes.
