Kurtis Rourke Named MAC Student Athlete Of The Week

ATHENS, Ohio -- Redshirt-sophomore quarterback Kurtis Rourke has been recognized as a Student Athlete of the Week by the MAC, the conference announced today (Oct. 27).

Rourke led the Bobcats this past week against Kent State. After entering the game in the first quarter, Rourke set career highs by completing 31-of-38 passes, good for an 81 percent completion rating. He also passed for a career-high 308 yards. On the ground, Rourke rushed for 49 yards on seven carries, scoring two of the Bobcats' three touchdowns.

The Scholar Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and/or female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. An institution can nominate up to one male and one female student-athlete per week in any of that current season's sports. The winners are selected by a representative of the MAC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs).
