ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio Field Hockey (4-3, 1-1) falls to Kent State, 5-1.
The Golden Flashes scored first, tallying a goal three minutes into the match. After going down 2-0, the Bobcats answered with their own goal from freshman Katelyn Whittle (Glenwood, Md.), her third of her first collegiate season.
Kent State scored the last three goals of the match, defeating Ohio 5-1. The Golden Flashes outshot the Bobcats 28-10, and also won the penalty corner battle, 15-5.
Ohio comes home for the first time in three weeks to take on Longwood on Saturday, October 5. Then, Ohio State comes to Pruitt Field on Sunday, October 6.
