ATHENS, Ohio â Led by home runs in both games from both Morgan Geno and Madison Claytor, the Ohio softball team (29-14, 10-7 MAC) completed the doubleheader sweep of Mid-American Conference East foe Bowling Green (23-25, 9-8 MAC) on Friday (April 21). The Bobcats defeated the Falcons 7-1 in game one, and then returned to down BGSU, 4-1 in the second game of the twin bill.
âWe started off a good week at Marshall,â head coach Jodi Hermanek said. âI thought we competed very well against a tough Marshall team and we swung with a really aggressive attack. That led in to today. I was really proud of our approach in the first game offensively. I thought Sav does what Sav does in the first game. She wasnât her sharpest by any means, but sheâs good enough to get a number of strikeouts and a big âwâ for us. Thatâs saying something about our team that when she isnât at her best we are able to have her back with the offense. I thought Dani threw awesome today. She had really good attack in the zone and was the leader that we needed in the second game. Iâm really proud of our team. You donât always want to see so many left on base, but in this instance it was good for us. We have struggled getting on base so Iâm proud of us for putting the pressure on in both games.â
