125- Shakur Laney v. Brent Fleetwood
Sophomore No. 18 Shakur Laney (Canal Winchester) scored a takedown around halfway through the second period and led Brent Fleetwood 2-1 at the end of the second frame. Laney started on top in the third narrowly scored enough riding time to overcome a Fleetwood escape to take the match in a 3-2 decision.
133- Hayden Lee v. Corey Keener
Redshirt sophomore Hayden Lee (Marysville, Ohio) wrestled No. 18 Corey Keener. Lee scored a pair of escapes, but Keener scored takedowns in each period and scored a 10-2 major decision victory with 1:58 riding time.
141- Noah Forrider v. Mason Smith
Despite being rode the entire third period, junior Noah Forrider (Marysville, Ohio) took the atchup with a second period takedown to win by decision (2-0) over Mason Smith.
149- Kade Kowalski v. Justin Oliver
Redshirt freshman Kade Kowalski (Nashport, Ohio) earned a takedown and four escapes in his matchup with No. 6 Justin Oliver. However, Oliver scored takedowns across the three periods and took the match by major decision (14-6) by earning a point with 1:52 riding time.
157- Cullen Cummings v. Colin Heffernan
The match between redshirt junior Cullen Cummings (Woodridge, Ill.) and No. 6 Colin Heffernan was the closest match of the day. The combatants traded off takedowns and escapes in the first period to head into the second tied at 3-3. After starting on the bottom, Cummings earned escape to start the second and scored takedown with just seconds remaining in the second frame. Heffernan earned escape after the late takedown, but Cummings led 6-4 at the end of two. Heffernan tied it up early in the third with a reversal, but Cummings followed that with an escape. Heffernan scored another takedown, but Cummings earned another escape to tie the score, 8-8, with 45 seconds remaining. As it looked like the match would go to sudden victory, Heffernan scored a takedown as time expired to take the match from Cummings with a 10-8 decision.
165- Austin Reese v. Logan Parks
Redshirt sophomore Austin Reese (Urbana, Ohio) took down Central Michigan's Logan Parks with a 4-0 decision. Reese earned a takedown in the first, an escape in the second and earned a point finishing with 1:14 in riding time.
174- Arsen Ashughyan v. CJ Brucki
Redshirt sophomore Arsen Ashughyan (Vanadzor, Armenia) took an early lead over No. 15 CJ Brucki finishing the first period up 2-1. Ashughyan scored an escape and a reversal in the next two periods, but Brucki scored a takedown, a pair of escapes and six near-fall points en route to a 12-4 major decision victory for Central Michgan.
184- Dontae McGee v. Jordan Ellingwood
Redshirt freshman Dontae McGee (Marion, Ohio) was pitted against No. 10 Jordan Ellingwood. After Trailing Ellingwood 6-0 after the first period, McGee earned a takedown in the second. Ellingwood scored a pair of escapes and takedowns to go with two near-fall points and took the match by major decision (15-2).

Redshirt freshman Bailey Faust (Lexington, Ohio) scored a pair of escapes, but couldn't overcome three Severn takedowns as Severn took the match by decision (8-2).

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio wrestling team (4-4, 2-2 MAC) fall to Mid-American Conference foe Central Michigan (2-0, 1-0 MAC), 22-12, on Sunday (Jan. 8) at the Convocation Center ending a two-dual win streak.
