QUOTABLE
"We outplayed them for a vast majority of the game. If you look at the stat sheet, we outshot them. We held a team that has one of the highest outputs in the country in terms of scoring to only two goals. We did a good job with the general game plan, but when it came to actually finishing and combining in our attacking end to make the most of the opportunities we had, we fell short." - 11th-year head coach Neil Macmillan on coming up short on opportunities to win
"From the point of view from our defense, our defense is outstanding. In terms of limiting them, we restricted their opportunities. We had a good game plan going in, and, for the most part, executed it. They (Rutgers) had two fast break-style opportunities that led to goals. We didn't defend on those two instances as well as we had for the majority of the rest of the game. They took their chances, and we failed to take ours. We had great opportunities around the edge of the D. Things that don't show up on the stat sheet where we had possession. We were numbers up going into their defense. We just didn't do a good job of finishing what we needed to there." - Macmillan on team's defensive effort
