OXFORD, Ohio -- The Ohio University swimming & diving team (6-5, 2-3 MAC) lost its 2013-14 regular season finale, falling to Mid-American Conference rival Miami (9-1, 8-0 MAC), 186-111, on Saturday (Feb. 8) at Nixon Aquatic Center.
The Bobcats recorded five event victories in the loss to the RedHawks.
Sophomore Addison Ferguson (Westfield Center, Ohio), junior Tori Bagan (Roanoke, Ind.), freshman Carrie Dukes (Monkton, Md.) and sophomore Haley Clark (College Station, Texas) combined to win the 400-yard medley relay in 3:51.05 to open the meet.
Senior Laurin Williams (Shoreline, Wash.) followed it up by taking first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:14.75. She also claimed the top spot in the 500-yard freestyle by clocking a time of 5:02.46.
Ferguson earned first place in the 100-yard backstroke by clocking a 55.64. She also won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.27. Senior Rachel Stearns (Minnetonka, Minn.) finished right behind her, posting a time of 2:05.15.
The Bobcats take aim at their 12th league crown when they travel to Geneva, Ohio for the 2014 MAC Championships, which will be held Feb. 27-March 1 at the SPIRE Institute.
