ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio University swimming & diving team (5-4, 2-2 MAC) closed out its 2013-14 home slate with a Senior Day split, topping West Virginia, 197.5-96.5 and falling to Iowa State, 173-126, on Saturday (Feb. 1) at the Aquatic Center.
The Cyclone also bested the Mountaineers, 200-93.
The Bobcats posted victories in six events.
Senior Laurin Williams (Shoreline, Wash.) took first place in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:10.70.
Sophomore Addison Ferguson (Westfield Center, Ohio) won the 100-yard backstroke in 55.49. She also earned the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.61.
Senior Kristin Capcik (Milwaukee, Wis.) captured the three-meter dive with a score of 312.05.
Ohio swept the top three spots in the one-meter dive, with junior Morgan Srail (Avon Lake, Ohio) leading the charge with a score of 300.10.
Senior Rachel Stearns (Minnetonka, Minn.) won the 200-yard individual medley by clocking a 2:08.81.
The Bobcats hit the road to take on Xavier next Friday (Feb. 7) in a dual meet that will take place at 5 p.m. ET. The Bobcats conclude the 2013-14 regular season the following day (Feb. 8) when they travel to Oxford, Ohio, to battle Mid-American Conference rival Miami at 10 a.m. ET.
