ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University wrestling team (2-5) dropped its second straight duel Sunday night as it fell 25-6 to Bloomsburg at the Convocation Center.
Sophomores Jeremy Johnson (Broadview Heights, Ohio) and Ryan Garringer (Downers Grove, Ill.) both earned victories for the Bobcats, defeating Bloomsburg's Zac Walsh and Sam Shirey by counts of 13-7 and 6-1, respectively.
Johnson's victory over Walsh at heavyweight improved his 2011-12 mark to 24-5 overall and 7-0 in duel competition. It was also his fourth straight victory.
Garringer's victory over Shirey handed him his victory in duels and ninth on the season. His victory at 184 was his fifth in his last seven bouts.
Ohio jumped out to an early 6-4 lead after three bouts, but the Huskies responded by earning victories in seven straight matches to secure the victory.
The Bobcats return to action on January 29 as it travels to Buffalo. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
