ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio softball team wrapped up its MAC schedule with a 6-1 loss to Eastern Michigan on Sunday.
Ohio (23-29, 10-12 MAC) and Eastern Michigan (23-20, 13-5 MAC) match up again next week in the first round of the 2007 MAC Softball Tournament. The Bobcats nabbed the No. 7 seed, while the Eagles took the No. 2 spot. The teams will play in game two on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

Today, Eastern Michigan took control early on, building a 4-0 lead in the first four innings.
Ohio's lone run came in the fifth inning. Amanda Sacks (Chugiak, Alaska) reached on a fielder's choice, advanced to second on a single and scored on an RBI single by Debbie Szalejko (Beavercreek, Ohio).
Four Bobcats had hits in the game, led by Alicia Catlette (Mogadore, Ohio) with two. Szalejko, Candace Saucedo (Ontario, Calif.) and Courtney Waters (Eagle River, Alaska) had one hit each.
Eastern Michigan scored two more runs in the top of the seventh for the win.
"Today we did a much better job of making adjustments," said Head Coach Jill Matyuch. "We made them play defense."
Saucedo (5-5) took the loss for Ohio, allowing four runs on four hits in the first four innings of the game. Natalie Armstrong (Murrysville, Pa.) pitched 2.1 innings in relief and Katlyn Mallette (Taunton, Mass.) pitched the last 0.2 innings of the game.
The Bobcats finished with one run on five hits and four errors. The Eagles finished with six runs on six hits with one error.
Ohio will close out the regular season tomorrow with a doubleheader against Dayton at 2 p.m. at the Ohio Softball Field.
