The 1975 Ohio softball team maintained a respected reputation for its powerhouse offense, exceptional pitching and sound defense. As a result of the team’s successful 16-1 regular season record and challenging schedule, the Bobcats were awarded a berth to the AIAW World Series. At the AIAW World Series, the 1975 softball team placed eighth overall after competing against Mankato State, North Dakota, East Stroudsburg and Michigan State. Â
Several members of the 1975 softball team set individual program records for their hitting, pitching and defensive performances that season. The team was led by first-year head coach, Nancy Straub, who went on to record 59 wins with Ohio and ranks second for winning percentage out of all coaches in the program’s history.  Â
