ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio Athletics and Varsity Ohio will be welcoming back over 40 Hall of Fame players, coaches and broadcasters Saturday (Feb. 21) for the celebration of the 50th anniversary and rededication of the Kermit Blosser Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame. During halftime of Saturday's men's basketball game against Kent State, each Hall of Fame honoree in attendance will be recognized in a special presentation.
The Kermit Blosser Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame was established in 1965 and 50 years later has been remodeled in thanks to the generosity of Robert D. and Margaret M. Walter. In 2006, the Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame was named after former student-athlete, coach and administrator Kermit Blosser. Since its inception, Ohio Athletics has inducted 261 Bobcats into the Hall of Fame.
"We are excited to have these talented and remarkable individuals back to campus," said Ohio Director of Athletics Jim Schaus. "Each Hall of Fame member represents amazing accomplishments for themselves and this university, and we are proud to honor them in the newly reconstructed lobby of the Convocation Center."
