Amber Brookins was named the Director of Compliance Ohio Athletics in November 2022. In her current role, Brookins handles all aspects of athletics financial aid legislation, athlete benefits and expenses, academic transfer eligibility and general compliance functions.
Previously, Brookins served as Ohio’s Assistant Director of Financial Aid for Athletics and State Grants from 2019-22, collaborating with the Athletics department to manage athletic and financial aid awarding. She started at Ohio University in October 2017 as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, where she wore many hats when assisting current and incoming students with their financial aid applications. Notably, Brookins managed the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) program.
Prior to Ohio, Brookins was a tenured employee at the Ohio University Credit Union. She started as a teller in May 2007 before being promoted to as Senior Member Services Representative Branch Leader that June. After five years in that role, Brookins was promoted to Senior Mortgage Originator, where she remained until joining the Bobcats.
Brookins obtained her Associate of Science degree from Hocking College in December 2006. She currently resides in Albany with her husband, Nathan and daughter, Maddie. She loves to spend time outdoors camping, fishing and hiking.
