Athens, Ohio. --The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams take off for Terre Haute, Indiana to compete in the NCAA Regional meet Friday (Nov.9).
The women's 6K championship race will feature 34 teams, and 305 individual competitors. Top ranked teams in the country No. 7 Michigan, No. 10 Michigan State, No. 11 Wisconsin, and No.14 Indiana will be in attendance. Of the Top 30 teams in the nation, five hail from the Great Lakes Region as Notre Dame is No. 5 in the region and 18th nationally.
The men's 10K race will feature 30 teams and 267 individual competitors. There are five nationally ranked teams including No.3 Wisconsin, No. 10 Notre Dame, No. 15 Purdue, No. 23 Indiana, and No. 27 Michigan. Those five schools go 1-2-3-4-5 in Great Lakes Region rankings.
The women will race the 6K race first at 11:15 a.m. (EST) with the men to follow after in the 10K race at 12:15 p.m. The race will be held at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in eastern Vigo County.
