ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio Volleyball team will compete in four events as part of its spring 2019 schedule, head coach Deane Webb announced on Thursday (Feb. 28).
"Spring is a very precious time for our program because our main focus is on individual skills and spending quality time with each player," assistant coach Rodnei Santos said. "As we improve individually, players and coaches cannot wait for the opportunity to put it all together and compete. This schedule allows us to test our team at different levels and we are very excited about it."
Ohio will begin the spring season with the Ohio Spring Invitational on March 23, hosted at the Ping Recreation Center. Teams at the invitational will include Ohio, West Virginia, Gannon, Shawnee State, West Virginia State, Wheeling Jesuit, Fairmont State and the University of Northwest Ohio. Times will be announced at a later date.
One week later on March 30, Ohio will travel to Ohio State. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
On April 13, Ohio will host regional rival Marshall inside the Convocation Center. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
The Bobcats will wrap up the spring with a trip to West Virginia on April 20. Ohio will also take on Virginia in Morgantown, West Virginia that day. Ohio will face WVU at 10 a.m. and UVA later on in the day.
Ohio finished the 2018 season with 13 wins and qualified for the conference tournament for the 17th-year in a row.
