MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ohio track & field team is in sixth place with 21 points after two days of competition at the 2019 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Akron is in first place with 68 points. The Bobcats trail fifth-place Kent State by 3.5 points.
Junior Tajah Haley (Washington, Pa.) finished off a strong showing in the heptathlon, placing fifth with 4,686 points and providing Ohio with 12 team points. She won the javelin portion of the seven-discipline competition with a toss of 44.19 meters.
Senior Emily Deering (Geneva, Ohio) qualified for the finals of the 800-meter run, placing fourth in the prelims with a time of 2:13.09.
In the shot put, freshman Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio) recorded the best toss of her collegiate career with a mark of 13.35 meters to place 13th.
The third and final day of the 2019 MAC Championships is set for Saturday (May 11), with competition getting underway at 11 a.m. ET.
