Buffalo, N.Y. – Ohio track and field finished the second day of the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a total of 22 points and in a three-way tie for seventh place.
Akron currently sits in first place with a two-day total of 57 points.

Day two of the MAC Championships were kicked off with the last of the heptathlon events where sophomore Tajah Haley (Washington, Pa.) finished in seventh place with a total of 4,238 points.
Haley finished day two competing in the long jump where she placed ninth with a jump reaching 4.67m. She then went on to finish first in the javelin throw with a throw of 42.29m. In her final event of the day, she placed ninth in the 800m dash by clocking in a final time of 2:44.67.
In the shot put, senior Jordan Porter (South Point, Ohio) earned a spot on the podium with her throw of 15.02m to place fifth overall. Freshman Abby Moore (Rootstown, Ohio) also finished in the top-10 with a throw of 13.95m to place ninth overall.
In the 100m hurdle trials, senior Mya Hodge (Dublin, Ohio) placed 14th with a final time of 14.62.
Sophomore Marissa Handel (Highland Heights, Ohio) competed in the 400m dash and clocked in a time of 56.44.
Junior Emily Deering (Geneva, Ohio) qualified for the finals of the 800m dash after recording a trial time of 2:11.73 and placing fourth overall. Freshman Melissa Barrett (Englewood, Ohio) also competed in the 800m and recorded an 11th-place finish with a time of 2:14.32.
