Ohio Track and Field Preapares for 2018 MAC Outdoor Championships

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio track and field team heads to Buffalo, N.Y. to compete in the 2018 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 10-12) hosted by the Bulls.

Ohio heads into the conference tournament coming off their final meet of the season where the hosted the Ohio Open (May 4).

RS senior Emma Ryan auto-qualified for the MAC outdoor championships by winning the women's javelin with a distance of 157-7 while sophomore Tajah Haley also auto-qualified with a throw of 142-1. Ryan won the event while Haley finished third. 

Haley won the 100-meter hurdles clocking a time of 14.71.

Freshman Jessica Liechty won the high jump at 5-1. 

Junior Gaza Odunaiya auto-qualified in the women's hammer throw, winning the event with a throw of 185-6. Odunaiya also won the women's discus with a throw of 151-4.

Senior Jordan Porter picked up the win in the women's shot put with a throw of 50-9.5 which was also a MAC auto-qualifier.

Junior Thelma Agyekum won the women's 100-meter run with a time of 12.35.

The Bobcats took the top three spots in the 200 with sophomore Marissa Handel leading at 25.38.

Handel also picked up the win in the 400 clocking a time of 58.42. 

Freshman Tate Dawson won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:46.43.

In the 5K, Ohio seniors Christina Seas and Mary Richardson tied for the win at 20:05.26. 

Sophomore Keilah Causey won the triple and long jumps hitting 16-0.5 in the long jump and 35.3 in the triple jump.
