Ohio Swimming and Diving Finishes Ohio State Fall Open Invitational in Eighth Place

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The Ohio swimming and diving team heads back to Athens after finishing in eighth, tallying 466.5 points, at the Ohio State Fall Open Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 23. 

Freshman Madeline Marks (Bentonville, Ark.) was a key performer for Ohio, placing 13th in the 200 Butterfly Finals, with a time of 2:02.32. That time was good enough for 8th best in program history.

Junior captain Katherine Garrity (Eagan, Minn.) placed 23rd in the 1650 Freestyle, finishing with a time of 16:55.13. Junior Samantha Glass (Villa Hills, Ky.) impressed in the 200 Backstroke, finishing 27th, with a time of 2:02.72. Glass also made the finals in the 200 Butterfly, placing 35th with a time of 2:05.28.

Freshman Emma Fortman (Madeira, Ohio) also made the finals in the 200 Backstroke, finishing 36th and clocking in at 2:02.39.

NEXT UP

The Bobcat swimmers head to Atlanta, Ga. on Wednesday, Dec. 4 to take part in the Toyota U.S. Open from Dec. 4 to Dec. 7. The Ohio divers will head to Oxford, Ohio to take part in the Miami Diving Invitational from Dec. 5 to Dec. 7.
