Ohio Swimming and Diving in Eighth After Day One in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The Ohio swimming and diving team wrapped up the first day at the 2019 Ohio State Open Invitational on Thursday (Nov. 21) sitting in eighth place with a total of 153 points.

Freshman McKenzie Grau (Mason, Ohio) tallied points in the 200 IM, finishing 27th overall with a time of 2:04.03. In time trials, senior captain Emilia Lahtinen (Ylojarvi, Finland) recorded a time of 2:04.22 in the 200 IM.

On the diving side, Halli Siwik (Fishers, Ind.) finished 26th in the 3M diving event with a score of 197.0. Redshirt sophomore Abigail Jordan (West Chester, Ohio) tallied a 142.45 in the same event, good enough for 33rd.

The open continues tomorrow at 10 a.m. with the 200 Medley Relay, 100 Butterfly, 400 IM, 200 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Backstroke, 800 Free Relay, and 1M Dive.
