Ohio Swimming and Diving Begins Season with Annual Green and White Meet

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio swimming and diving team opens the 2019-20 season with the annual Green and White intra-squad meet at 3:30 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 11).

RETURNERS
Ohio returns seniors Chastity Haxton (Englewood, Fla.), Emilia Lahtinen (Ylojarvi, Finland), Courtney Perrett (Durban, South Africa), Katherine Redden (Fort Thomas, Ky.), and Olivia Dillon (Newcastle, Aus.)

This year's junior class of returners consists of Carolyn Bischoff (New Hudson, Mich.), Katherine Garrity (Eagan, Minn.), Samantha Glass (Villa Hills, Ky.), Katelyn O'Brien (Williams Bay, Wisc.), Hannah Schlegel (Birdsboro, Pa.), and Annie Gosselin (Naperville, Pa.)

Sophomores include: Athena Aravantinou (North Bethesda, Md.), Madison Haschmeyer (Springfield, Ill.), Madeline Kenyon (Dayton, Ohio), Rebekah Klem (Columbiana, Ohio), Taylor Miller (Latrobe, Pa.), Kelsey Morgan (Pickerington, Ohio), Cloe Pace (Naperville, Ill.), Kendra Sheehan (Columbus, Ohio), and Abigail Jordan (West Chester, Ohio).

NEWCOMERS
Ohio welcomes eight freshmen to the roster to begin the season. Sam Bailey (George Town, Cayman Islands), Sienna Breton (Cheshire, Conn.), Maya Conte (Brecksville, Ohio), Emma Fortman (Madeira, Ohio), McKenzie Grau (Mason, Ohio), Madeline Marks (Bentonville, Ark.), Grace Riddle (Canal Winchester, Ohio), and Halli Siwik (Fishers, Ind.) will all make their collegiate debut for Ohio this season.

LAST SEASON
The Bobcats finished the 2018-19 season at the Mid-American Conference Championships with a fifth-place finish and a total of 421 points scored, up from their 253 point total the previous season. Akron was named champion with a final total of 867 points earned.

UP NEXT
The Bobcats will begin the fall portion of the 2019-20 regular season in Lexington, Ky next weekend, when the Bobcats take on Kentucky and South Carolina on Friday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. ET.
