Ohio Swimming and Diving Picked Sixth In MAC Preseason Poll

ATHENS, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference coaches' preseason poll has been released with Ohio swimming and diving ranked sixth, the league announced today.

Akron was unanimously chosen to win the MAC after winning their fifth-consecutive conference title last year. Selected to follow the Zips in the 2018 MAC coaches' preseason poll is Eastern Michigan while the Miami Redhawks were selected to finish third. Buffalo and Bowling Green were selected to finish fourth and fifth respectively. Picked to finish behind the Bobcats were Toledo and Ball State.

2017-18 SEASON
The Bobcats finished the 2017-18 season at the Mid-American Conference Championships with a seventh-place finish and a total of 253 points scored. Akron was named champion with a final total of 827.5 points earned.

Junior Corrin Van Lanen (Green Bay, Wis.) was named First Team All-MAC for the second year in a row after her performances throughout the week.

The Bobcats will travel to Huntington, W. VA to battle Marshall for their second regular season dual meet on Friday, Oct.19 beginning at 5 p.m.
