Ohio Swim and Dive Picked Fifth in MAC Preseason Poll

ATHENS, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference coaches' preseason poll has been released with Ohio swimming and diving ranked fifth, the league announced today.

Akron was unanimously chosen to win the MAC after winning their fourth-consecutive conference title last year. Buffalo was picked to follow the Zips, along with Eastern Michigan and Miami. Picked to finish behind the Bobcats were Bowling Green, Toledo, and Ball State.

2016-17 SEASON
The Bobcats finished the 2016-17 season at the Mid-American Conference Championships with a fifth-place finish and a total of 304 points scored. Akron was named champion with a final total of 750 points earned.

Junior Corrin Van Lanen (Green Bay, Wis.) was named First Team All-MAC and sophomore Emily Zimcosky (Smock, Pa.) to the Second Team after their performances throughout the week.

The Bobcats plan to kick off this season with an intra-squad scrimmage at the Ohio University Aquatic Center on Saturday, Oct. 7 beginning at 10 a.m.
