ATHENS, Ohio –The Ohio women's soccer team has released its 2019 fall schedule, seventh-year head coach Aaron Rodgers announced today (June 26). The schedule sees nine home games, including four non-conference matchups and five Mid-American Conference pairings. The Bobcats will also face defending Big East Champion, Georgetown, who finished the 2018 season in the Women's College Cup Semifinals.
The Bobcats will start play on Friday, Aug. 16 when Ohio heads to Youngstown, Ohio to take on Youngstown State in this year's exhibition matchup. First touch is set for 7 p.m.
Ohio opens the regular season at home on Thursday, Aug. 22 when the Bobcats host Eastern Kentucky for a 4 p.m. tilt on Chessa Field. Ohio will then head to Highland Heights, Ky. to take on Northern Kentucky on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m.
The Bobcats wrap up the first month of play at home on Friday, Aug. 30 against Cleveland State. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Chessa Field. Ohio will then head to Huntington W. Va. on Sunday, Sept. 1 to take on the Thundering Herd of Marshall at 1 p.m.
Ohio will then play back-to-back home games starting on Sunday, Sept. 8 when they play Southern Illinois at 1 p.m., before hosting Robert Morris on Friday, Sept. 13. Game time between the Bobcats and the Colonials is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Chessa Field.
Ohio will then hit the road for four-straight road contests starting on Sunday, Sept. 15 when the Bobcats head to Columbus, Ohio to take on in-state rival, Ohio State.
Ohio will then head to Washington DC to take on Georgetown on Friday, Sept. 20. The Hoyas finished 2018 with a 21-1-3 record and won the Big East Championship before advancing to the Women's College Cup Semifinals. First touch is set for 4 p.m.
Ohio will then begin MAC play on Friday, Sept. 27 when Ohio heads to DeKlab, Ill. for a matchup with Northern Illinois. First touch is set for 7 p.m. The Bobcats will then head to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take on Western Michigan Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m.
Ohio then returns home for a two-game home stand, starting on Friday, Oct. 4, when the Bobcats host Toledo at Chessa Field at 4 p.m. Ohio will stay at Chessa on Sunday, Oct. 6 with a 1 p.m. matchup with reigning MAC Champion, Bowling Green.
Ohio will then head to Akron, Ohio on Thursday, Oct. 10 to take on the Zips at 7 p.m., before returning to Athens for three-straight games. On Sunday, Oct. 13, Ohio will host Buffalo at 1 p.m. before welcoming Central Michigan on Friday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. The Bobcats will conclude the home portion of their schedule on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. when Ohio hosts Eastern Michigan.
The Bobcats will the close out the regular season with three-straight road games beginning Thursday, Oct. 24 when the Bobcats head to Oxford, Ohio to take on Miami at 4 p.m. Ohio will then head to Muncie, Ind. on Sunday, Oct. 27 to take on Ball State at 1 p.m., before closing out the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. at Kent State.
The 2019 MAC Tournament will begin on Sunday, Nov. 3 and conclude on Sunday, Nov. 10.
The 2018 Bobcats are coming off of a successful 9-8-3 season with a 6-3-2 conference mark. The Bobcats were the fourth-seed in last season's MAC Tournament, advancing to the MAC Semifinals for the first time since 2004.
