INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA announced brackets and seeding for the 2019 NCAA Wrestling Championships, which will be held March 21-23 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
Redshirt junior Zac Carson (Akron, Ohio), redshirt sophomore Mario Guillen (Perrysburg, Ohio), senior Cameron Kelly (Bellbrook, Ohio) and redshirt senior Zack Parker (Felton, Del.) will represent the Ohio wrestling team in Pittsburgh. Kelly (141 pounds) and Parker (285 pounds) were among 285 student-athletes that qualified automatically through their conference tournament finishes last weekend. Carson (157 pounds) and Guillen (133 pounds) were among 45 at-large selections for nationals.
Seedings and first-round draws for the Bobcats at the 2019 NCAA Wrestling Championships will be as follows:
(23) Ohio R-So. Mario Guillen vs. (10) Penn State Fr. Roman Bravo-Young
(12) Ohio Sr. Cameron Kelly vs. (21) North Carolina R-Jr. A.C. Headlee
(22) Ohio R-Jr. Zac Carson vs. (11) Ohio State R-Jr. Ke-Shawn Hayes
(31) Ohio R-Sr. Zack Parker vs. (2) Penn State Sr. Anthony Cassar
Ohio will also be sending redshirt junior Shakur Laney (Canal Winchester, Ohio) to the 2019 NCAA Wrestling Championships as an alternate at 125 pounds.
