KETTERING, Ohio – The Ohio women's golf team wrapped up the first day of competition at the 2019 Flyer Invitational, hosted by Dayton on Monday (Oct. 14) at the 5,800-yard NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio. The Bobcats finished the day in 11th place after shooting a 322 (+42). 

Butler currently sits in first place after opening the tournament with a 300 (+20).

Leading Ohio was junior Ashley Flynn (Dublin, Ohio) who finished Monday with a first round score of 78 (+8), tying her for 23rd place. 

Next were sophomores Alicia Porvasnik (Hinckley, Ohio) and Catherine Loftus (Roswell, Ga.), who both finished the first round tied for 36th place after shooting an opening round of 80 (+10). 

Freshman Maria Howard (Dublin, Ohio) concluded the first round of play with an 84 (+14), tying her for 57th place after Monday's round. 

Rounding out the scoring Bobcats was redshirt freshman Mallory Lovell (Georgetown, Ky.) who finished the day tied for 62nd place after recording an 85 (+15). 

Playing unattached for Ohio was senior Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) who opened the Flyer Invitational with a first round score of 81 (+11), tying her for 44th place. 

Ohio concludes the 2019 Flyer Invitational tomorrow (Oct. 15) with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start.
