NORMAL, Ill.– The Ohio women's golf team wrapped up play at the 2019 Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State, Monday afternoon (Sept. 9) at the 6,010–yard Weibring Golf Club. The Bobcats finished the tournament in 17th place after shooting a third-round score of 317, giving them a tournament total of 955 (+91).
Xavier won this year's Redbird Invitational with and overall score of 885 (+21).
Leading the Bobcats was sophomore Catherine Loftus (Roswell, Ga.) who finished Monday with a round of 78, giving her a two-day total of 230 (+14), and tying her for 45th place.
Next was freshman Avery Ovens (Wiloughby Hills, Ohio) who finished tied for 76th place after shooting a third-round score of 77. The score gave her a three-round total of 240 (+24). Junior Ashley Flynn (Dublin, Ohio) finished tied for 78th after posting a third round score of 80. Giving her a two-day total of 241 (+25).
Up next was sophomore Alicia Porvasnik (Hinckley, Ohio) who placed tied for 88th after finishing Monday with a score of 83. Monday's round gave her a total tournament total of 245 (+29). Finally, senior Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) finished the tournament tied for 92nd place after posting a final round score of 82, giving her a three-round total of 252 (+36).
Competing unattached for the Bobcats was freshman Domitille Chambon (Rochester Hills, Mich.), who finished in 95th place after finishing the final round with an 83, giving her a tournament total of 225 (+39).
Up next, the Bobcats return to action Sept. 21-22 at the 2019 Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State in State College, Pa.
