NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – After day two of the 2019 Mid-American Conference Championships was suspended, the Ohio women's golf team wrapped up the MAC Championships hosted by Central Michigan at the 6025-yard Purgatory Golf Club with 36 holes of play on Sunday (April 21).
The Bobcats finished the 2019 MAC Championships in seventh place after the final two rounds, shooting a 301 to open the day and a shooting a 305 in the final round, giving them a two-day total of 927 (+63).
Kent State took home the team championship, finishing the event -7 (857).
Senior Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio), finished tied for 14th place as Ohio's top performer. Hughes opened the day shooting a 72, and then recorded a final round score of 75 later in the day, giving her a two-day total of 225 (+9).
Next, freshman Catherine Loftus (Roswell, Ga.), opened the day shooting a 72, and then recorded a final round score of 77 later in the day. Loftus finished tied for 23rd place after registering a two-day total of 231 (+15).
Senior Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio), secured 26th place after opening the day with a 75, and then later recording 75, giving her a tournament total of 232 (+16) to wrap up her weekend of play.
Junior Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.), finished tied for 37th place after opening the day with an 82, and then shooting an 79 later in the day. Balish recorded a two-day total of 240 (+24).
Rounding out the competing Bobcats was freshman Alicia Porvasnik (Hinckley, Ohio), who finished in 48th place after shooting an 86 to open the day, followed by a 78 later in the day for a tournament score of 249 (+33).
