BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. – The Ohio women's golf team finished play at the 2019 Dolores Black Falcon Invitational hosted by Bowling Green, on Sunday (April 7) at the 5,829-yard Stone Ridge Golf Course. The Bobcats finished the tournament in 2nd place after shooting a final round of 300, giving them a two-day total of 598 (+22).
Oakland was named the team champion finishing with a two-day total of 592 (+16).
Senior Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) led Ohio and was named the 2019 Dolores Black Falcon Invitational Champion. Hughes finished Sunday with a 74, giving her a two-day total of 146 (+2). Senior Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) finished the tournament tied for 2nd place after shooting a 74 on Sunday, giving her a two-day total of 147 (+3).
Freshman Catherine Loftus (Roswell, Ga.) finished the tournament tied for 12th place after shooting a 76 on Sunday, giving her a two-day total of 152 (+8).
Freshman Alicia Porvasnik (Hinckley, Ohio) finished tied for 15th place after finishing the morning with a 76, helping her finish +9 with a two-day total of 153. Rounding out the scoring Bobcats was Junior Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) who finished 28th after finishing Sunday with a 78, giving her a two-day total of 157 (+13).
Competing individually for Ohio was senior Chloe McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) who finished tied for 41st place after finishing Sunday with an 84, giving her a two-day total of 162 (+18). Sophomore Amanda Hayes (Dayton, Ohio), also competed as an individual, finished 48th after shooting an 83 on Sunday for a two-day total of 165 (+21).
Senior Hannah Travis (Lancaster, Ohio), finished Sunday with an 83, giving her a two-day total of 167 (+23) for 52nd place finish, while sophomore Ashley Flynn (Dublin, Ohio) also competed individually, finishing Sunday with an 86 for a two-day total of 169 (+25) tying her for 56th place.
Up next, the Bobcats head to Noblesville, Ind., April 19-21 for the 2019 Mid-American Conference Tournament hosted by Central Michigan at the Purgatory Golf Club.
