ATHENS, Ohio— The Ohio women's golf team will continue their spring season Friday, March 30 through Saturday, March 31 when it competes in the 2018 Colonel Classic, hosted by Eastern Kentucky University. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will take place at the University Club at Arlington on the 5,815 yard course in Richmond, Ky.
Par is set at 72, and the first two rounds will begin on Friday, March 30 at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Round three will begin on Saturday, March 31 at 9 a.m.
This year's event will see 15 teams including Akron, Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Louisiana-Monroe, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Ohio, Tennessee Tech, Toledo, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky and Xavier.
Last year, at the EKU Colonel Classic, Ball State was team champion finishing with a total score of 900. Sydney Anderson (Ball State) was the individual medalist with a final score of 220. Past winners include EKU, Toledo and Akron.
Last season, Ohio finished second with a final score of 913 (+49). Pendy also finished competition in second place, finishing with a score of 222 (+6).
The Bobcats are coming off of a 12th place finish at the 2018 Spring Break Shootout hosted by Western Kentucky.

After the 2018 Colonel Classic, the Bobcats will head to Bowling Green, Ohio April 7-8 to compete in the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational hosted by Bowling Green in their final tune-up before the 2018 MAC Tournament. Competition will take place at the Stone Ridge Golf Club.
