CLEVELAND – Senior guard Dominique Doseck (Athens, Ohio) was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday (Jan. 1).
Doseck earned weekly conference honors for the second time in her career and the first time this season. Doseck is the fourth Bobcat to be named MAC East Player of the Week, joining redshirt freshman Erica Johnson, sophomore forward Gabby Burris (Baltimore, Ohio) and junior guard Amani Burke (Columbus, Ohio).
A Sport Administration and Business Analytics major, Doseck tied her career high with 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting in Ohio's 77-67 win over American on Saturday. She was 5-of-8 from the three-point line and had 20 points in the first half alone. Doseck added three assists and four rebounds in the victory over the Eagles.
Doseck is averaging 13.2 points a game while shooting 48.5 percent (47-of-97) from the field this season. She is 45.7 percent (32-of-70) from the three-point line and is averaging three rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
The Bobcats finished the nonconference season a perfect 11-0 and will open up MAC play on Saturday, Jan. 5 at Buffalo. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.
