Ashley Taylor begins her first season as as assistant coach with the Bobcats.
Taylor comes to Ohio after one year as the assistant softball coach at Tennessee Tech., after a successful collegiate career at Austin Peay.
During her time at Tennessee Tech, Taylor assisted in all facets of the program, from organizing and planning practices, specifically skill work including base running, hitting and catchers skill work, ran outfield warm-up, organized pre-game protocols, while also assisting with recruiting tasks and office duties. With 10 plus years of collegiate camp coaching experience, including USC Upstate Elite 80 Camp, Fastpitch Master Elite Camp, University of Tennessee Summer Pitching and Catching Camp and University of Missouri Summer Elite Camp, Taylor also designed and set up camps and clinic events such as their Christmas camp with 300 plus campers.
Prior to her time at Tennessee Tech, Taylor was a graduate assistant (2009-11), and then hired on staff as the assistant softball coach at Belmont University (2012-14) before advancing in career to head softball coach at Centre College.
In her time at Centre College, she led in all facets of the program, from scheduling and recruiting to practice planning and field preparation to organizing camps and clinics to in game duties such as hitting adjustments and pitch calling. Taylor also doubled as their External Relations Assistant, Community Service Coordinator and Student Athlete Advisory Committee Liaison. She organized most community service projects by their 21 teams, assisted in various aspects with external relations team and in managing SAAC bi-monthly meetings, guest speakers and leadership presentations all while performing the duties of a head softball coach.
Taylor received her bachelor's degree in special education from Austin Peay in 2009, while earning her master's in sport administration from Belmont in 2011.
